Fronted by Ugandan singer Beatrice Byakika, I’con-i-city is the latest African fashion house that is home to two fashion lines Desturi and Elle- Afrique, based in South West London. Mainly designing and manufacturing exclusive statement pieces with the basis African ethnic and tribal influences. It is an in-house operation from start to finish with a team of experienced designers and seamstresses. The female brand designs and manufactures clothes that are made for real women with the focus being on the use of vibrant, vivid, fun, exciting colours and fabric prints to produce authentic stylish and quality garments.

Beatrice Byakika works with a team of designers Tanda and Atess Gakona-two female brand lines with specific focus areas; Desturi collection is inspired by ancient, mythical designs and translated into a modern day visual with a concept to 'capture your ethnic diva'. The Elle-Afrique collection consists of exquisite glamorous timeless pieces under the concept 'Channel your elegant self'. The two concepts are part of a mission of providing exclusivity, excitement and the ability to set trends. We have a deep passion for the African culture, fashion, music, colour and beauty which we bring to all our designs.

The team have created designs for the cultural wear for Miss Uganda UK 2011 and also showcased at The Africa Music Festival fashion segment, Miss Cameroon UK 2011, UK Kenyan Awards among other events.
